Winter warming knitwear is my absolute favourite element (because we have to be optimistic with this weather!) of the season. What I love most, is how each year knitwear styles are slowly evolving past the regular 'Off Duty'  cardigans and jumpers. We are now seeing knitwear fabricated skirts, dresses, coats and even pants! But this brings a whole new question, how do you incorporate these new knitwear styles into your corporate work wardrobe and remain, well, work appropriate?

To cover all bases, I have filled my winter wardrobe with three of this seasons most coveted styles from Westfield (did you know you can now shop 24/7 online at , none of which give up the tailoring or structure of regular work attire. Firstly, a new cardigan or coat-igan as it is referred to, choosing a light dusty nude colour to break up my Melbourne layers of black, although a grey would also have worked quite well in remaining neutral, yet wearable. The coat-igan is great in that it keeps the warmth of a coat and can still be worn with denim on the weekend, but has more structure than your regular button up cardigan. Therefore remaining work suitable.

The next two pieces of knitwear that I couldn't pass up were an A-line and straight cut skirt. Both are super practical due to a modest length and extraordinarily comfortable fabrication thanks to the viscose blend. Both also look just as great styled with a shirt, as they do with a nice top (to keep your after work drinks nights covered, of course!)

For knitwear styling and as a rule of thumb, I tend to stick to no more than two knit pieces at once. Usually going with the above combination or my second most beloved combo of a knit skirt with a light knit jumper. And believe me, for us curvy girls knitwear is actually an absolute gift. The thicker fabric not only helps to keep us cosy but for those who are concerned, smooths lumps and bumps and aids in concealing that little tummy section. I know this is not for everyone, but we all have our 'things' and i know many curvy girls who will not wear a pencil skirt because of this. So pretty much...

Head to toe knitwear for the winter win!
