Outfit details:
1.  Jacket - Sportsgirl Adventure Girl Serape 2. Top - Sportsgirl Turtleneck cape (Very roomy, i am only wearing a size M!) 3. Scarf - Sportsgirl 4. Hat - Chrissie Felt Hat

Western influences have been high across the runways this season, making them a key style for the season (or for life if you are me!). From the leading trend of fringe details, to our old favourite leather details, then onto ankle boots, hats, feathers, serapes and subtly clashed prints such as plaid.  All which can be easily styled for curves!

What I love about the Western AW15 influences (even for plus size fashion!) filtering through is that they have a new modern , yet easy edge. The shapes are cleaner and the pieces a little more lady, think flare jeans (i am yet to find the perfect pair!) with a crisp shirt or a plaid shirt with a heavily fringed skirt and heels, as seen regularly on style icon Olivia Palermo; trust me - just pop 'Olivia Palermo western into Pinterest and prepare to be wowed!

All in all this is not a hard trend to dip your toes into, just start by adding a couple of key pieces such as a plaid shirt or fringe jacket, but then again.. a cute new ankle boot never goes astray!

To get my fix with a few of this seasons most coveted western pieces I popped into my local Sportsgirl at Westfield Southland, knowing they had just released their new 'Adventure Girl' collection! I quickly spotted this luxe fringed serape and with a quick glance around the store had unintentionally styled my entire look around this once piece before I had even made it over to the shelf. Typical. Knowing I was going to need to be cosy, I put my fashion smarts on and opted to style down with a relaxed knit, skinny jeans and classic ankle boots.

But for future reference, what i love about a serape is how easy they are to style up or down, just over a simple black dress and ankle boots is just as chic!  #fashionobsessed

(Fashion obsessed but cant get into store? Remember you can now shop Westfield online 24/7  at www.westfield.com.au! Easy as that!)

Adios!

I wish I had discovered you earlier; for years I have been looking for full-figured inspiration that reflected the direction I would like to take fashion-wise, however was never able to find a blog or a source to reflect a truly understated, yet very chic look... up until now, that is!
