"The Curvy 10" with Tanesha from Girl with Curves.

Today we are talking to the stunning Tanesha from "Girl With Curves". This lady has always been a favourite of mine! Her classic and refined style, with an insert of trend based pieces, always leaves me wanting to fine tune my looks. She seamlessly creates the a flawless vision of tailored ladylike glam!

Tanesha Awasthi.
Name: Tanesha Awasthi
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA
Tweet me at: @GirlWithCurves

1) Why did you start blogging?: I needed a creative outlet outside my full-time tech job, so my hubby suggested I start a blog to chronicle my shopping habits. At the time, I had no idea what a blog even was! After pondering what I'd write about for a couple of weeks, I started the blog on 2/13/11, after seeing my pictures posted on Tumblr, with hundreds of comments related to my being a curvy girl.

2) What fabulous experiences have you had (or are looking forward too!) because you started your blog?: I'm just so thankful for being able to touch lives of women that can relate to me and my blog. Being able to promote body positivity and self-esteem through fashion is truly a dream come true. (Attending Fashion Week, being on a Billboard in Times Square, and featured in Glamour Magazine were also really amazing accomplishments).

3) If you could have your dream job, anywhere in the world, what would it be?: It would be doing exactly what I'm doing, but 24 hours a day! I never thought I could combine my passions for helping women, writing, and fashion, but the blog has allowed me to do that, and I'm so thankful for every moment of it. It's so fulfilling to do something that is not only fun, but helps others. A major goal of mine is to have my own clothing line one day.

4) What is your number one fashion addiction? Blazers, for sure. I think I have one in every fabric and color- it does amazing things to curves, and for anyone looking to create curves, it can do that too!

5) If you could buy only three new additions for the upcoming season in your wardrobe, what would they be?: Oooow that's a toughie! It would probably be a semi-sheer midi dress, a floral print something, and a mint colored something.

6) Favourite blogger? (can be more than one): Right now I'm majorly crushing on The Glamourai- she's a stylist blogger who travels the world, living fashionably and right now she's in Morocco, I'm so jeaalous!

7) What new piece in your wardrobe are you most looking forward to styling at the moment?: A pair of kitten heel slingbacks.

8) Your number one tip when it comes to dressing for curves?: You can wear anything- any silhouette, any style, any fabric, if the fit is immaculate.

9) Where do you want to be in 10 years?: Traveling the world with my hubby, our two kids (hopefully!) and our English Bulldog, Kingston. (Can give just a basic answer to these or more detailed if you want!)

10) Sequins or Glitter?: Sequins all the way!

Lace or Leather?: Tough one, I love both, and I'm so indecisive, lol...okay...lace!

Floral or Tribal?: In the past I'd say tribal, but right now I'm loving tribal style floral prints, especially the mirror image one's, they're so exotic!

Statement necklace or Statement earrings?: Statement necklace please!

Summer heat or Winter Chills?: I love Winter, because I have a passion for layering, scarves and boots (and I'd also love hats if my hair would fit into them, haha!)

Thrifted or Designer?: Vintage, thrifted, designer is the best! (One of my most prized possessions is a vintage D&G pencil skirt I got at a thrift shop for $24, and it fits like a glove- go me!)

  2. This might be a stupid question but want to know (and cannot figure it out) what is the black wrap you have on in the first picture over the pink dress? It isn't a shawl nor is it a poncho from what I can tell, love that arms are covered but also "free". Love love the pink dress...is it current and if so, from where?
Just discovered your blog and love it; you are beautiful inside and out.
